What everyone has always wondered is, what are the best toilets in RGS. Here is a list of the top 5 toilets in RGS. To rank them, I have put into account; how clean the toilets are, How the toilets smell, how much space is in the toilets, how large the toilets are and how the toilets look. As Fabrizio Romano would say `Here We Go`.
5th Sixth Form centre toilets

The toilets in the sixth form centre are 5th. The main advantage for this bathroom is that is exclusively for the sixth form only. This makes it something for the students not in the sixth form to look forward to. The sixth form toilets have an old school type of urinal and also have toilets. Due to the lack of hygiene amongst the middle and lower school students, the sixth form toilets are relatively clean. Siddarth Sai Rayaprolu said, “it is so clean you could lick the floor; I could eat a full 5 course meal here.” I think this is a bold statement and I would like to see this happen. A new lower sixth student, in awe of the privacy of the toilets said, “you feel nice and secure as if you are in a world of your own.”
4th JBF

In 4th place is the toilets on the first floor of the John Brown Building. These toilets are next to the economics library. They have also improved recently as finally after a long time of us waiting they have fixed the lock on the big toilet. They are similar to the toilets on the floor above as they have the same kind of colour schemes and they unfortunately have no urinals. However, they are even busier than those on the floor above and personally I always find myself having to wait for others to use the toilets before my economics and history lessons. The bathroom includes a large mirror as seen in the pictures above, this is perfect as you can make sure you are presentable so that you don’t receive a flag from a teacher with a superiority complex. When interviewing RGS students one stated “Dreary dry lessons in the jb building, if you want an excuse to leave, it is perfect.” Personally, I disagree about the lessons being boring in the JB building however many RGS probably concur with the previous quote.
3rd JBS

In 3rd place are the toilets on the second floor of the John Brown building. They are right next to the Latin base. I would also like to highlight the amazing photography skills to get this picture that perfectly encapsulates the beauty of this bathroom. As you can see in the photo there is a lovely view outside which can help those calm down after the loveliness of having a Latin lesson. One member of the RGS that I interviewed said this about the JBS bathroom “In normal toilets the main thing prioritised is it being clean, and smelling nice, However the JBS toilets also have a view to adore which pleases the retina.” After this great depiction of these toilets, you are probably wondering why these toilets aren’t rated no:1. This is because they have no urinals which means that only 3 toilets can be used at once. This usually wouldn’t be a problem, but they are usually quite busy and full of lower school students eager to get to lessons on time. As well as this the cleanliness of this toilets are not always the best.
2nd Gym

In 2nd place is the gym toilets. These are relatively unknown, I only found out about the existence of them when researching for this article and I have been at this school for over 5 years! They are outside the gym and next to the sports office, if you were wondering where to find them. Hence the Gym toilets are perfectly placed because the eager people in the gym don’t have to go far after a gruelling gym workout. Like the music toilets, the gym toilets are also a quiet place which mixed with the high number of urinals and sinks mean that you will rarely have to wait for others. They are also kept relatively clean and includes a mirror meaning those who care enough about their looks can clean themselves up.
1st Music

We have officially rated the music loos as the best toilets in the school! They are extremely clean and kept up well. You will find them on the bottom floor of the music base on the old building side of the school. Not only this, but the toilets are practically unused so are extremely quiet and you won’t have to wait for someone else to do their business. I interviewed one member of the RGS named Siddarth Sai Rayaprolu about his views on the toilets at the school, he said, “Most of the toilets at the school, are detty brev, however big up the Music toilets they are clean and leng and smell fresh innit, the goat school toilet ”
Now you are probably wondering, What is the worst toilet in the school?
It is the Changing rooms toilets!
I think we all knew this because these toilets are just horrendous. They have 0 privacy because lots of rowdy teenagers like looking over the doors, to add to this the smell is horrid as it is a mixture of sweat from the changing rooms and faecal matter from the toilet. Lastly it is horrendous because those in the changing rooms can hear the displacement of your personal waste. One RGS student said, “It smells so bad it makes me change quicker as a result.” These toilets are by far the worst toilets in the school. They are so bad that it puts into question whether the cleaning team even clean these toilets. I couldn’t put a picture of these toilets as I believed it was too crude to post on such a special newspaper.
