In this article I will rank the top 5 RGS 1509 articles. Of course, these opinions may be controversial and will be the opinion of myself and the other 1509 members, so if you do not agree with these opinions read no more. This ranking is only for finished articles which have been uploaded onto the RGS 1509 Also if you are reading after Christmas 2023 then this might not be up to date so some articles created after this may not be added. Also, I have some other recommendations based on statistics. 

5. Carlos Alcaraz: future GOAT?

This is quite a good article, is quite well made and will probably do well as it is very appealing to the tennis community and is truly relevant to the latest news and sports. Unfortunately, it was placed in 5^th place as it is not an interesting read for others who may not be into tennis.

4. Surfaces: Significantly Slow, Staggeringly Expensive and Surprisingly Painful to Use

I think that this is an article that all RGS students can relate to; it really expresses the need for the improvement of the school surfaces. It is also professionally made and refers to the software used at the RGS. Also, there are lots of interviews with students and teachers, making it more well-made and further expressing that the school surfaces have some issues. Overall, this is a convincing article and deserves 4^th place. Enough said. Get rid of surfaces already!

3. And…Action!: The Biggest Strike in Cinema History

A useful article that in my opinion is very well made and is interesting as it not only is informative about current events/news but also concerns the rise of AI in the cinema industry. Overall, it is interesting and informative, and I would put it in 3^rd place.  

2. The Slow Demise of Guildford

This is just a good article, clearly explaining the problems with Guildford, North Street and the significant pollution of chewing gum and litter. Also explaining the problem with bus delays in the Guildford bus station. Also expressing the issue of the bus stations modernization promised for a long time for a long time. Overall, it sums up the issues with North Street* and the unwillingness of the surrey county council to improve Guildford. 

*Unfortunately, this is only relevant to North Street which is slightly annoying. 

1. Black Holes

Really interesting explanation and it is perfectly executed, it is described in a remarkably simple and accessible way meaning it is an enjoyable read for a wide range of people. Also, it is very entertaining to read with particularly useful and reliable explanation to some interesting questions such as ‘how do you destroy a black hole?’ or ‘what will happen if you fell into a black hole?’ A great, informative article.
