Following the recent departure of Mr Tayar, there is a void in the RGS for Fantasy Football knowledge and tips. Fantasy Football is a fever which has gripped the nation and TikTok in recent times, and it is high time that the RGS properly participated in the finer debates in this topic. In this article, we will be evaluating and reviewing some of the most hotly debated player this season, and whether they are worth your time.
- Erling Haaland

“Stay humble, eh?” When Haaland said this after Man City’s draw to Arsenal, he was in red hot form and was a key part of most FPL teams. However, since then his form has dried, and he has found himself sidelined in most prestigious teams. But is he worth the risk? Whilst he is expensive, he has scored 17 goals in the league this season, and if Man City do return to form, then he surely would be a good part of it. In the expert opinion of our top journalists, we believe it is best to hold off on him for the moment, until he shows signs of his former form. Salah and Palmer seem safer big budget options, and other strikers such as Chris ‘The Big’ Wood and Alexander Isak are much more popular and in form. However, with the recent resurgence of Man City in the Premier League, don’t count out the Great Dane.
- Trent Alexander Arnold

A contentious one. Oh, how those Liverpool fans are hoping he doesn’t leave them next summer! Alexander Arnold warrants a high price on fantasy, but if you bring him in you can be sure to see some attacking returns. Liverpool’s good defensive record means he will get clean sheet points as well, and ultimately, he boasts one of the best records of a defender in Fantasy of all time. If you are one of the ones fantasising over whether you should bring him in, in your next wildcard perhaps, we believe he would be a worthwhile purchase.
- Yoane Wissa

Whilst Mbuemo earns most of the attention from those middle-of-the-pack fantasy players, another sly pick from Brentford is Yoane Wissa, which true connoisseurs of the game recognise. He is the highest Premier League scorer of all time for Brentford and often goes under the radar due to the media hype for Mbuemo. His performances against mid to lower table teams enable him to earn good returns. Due to his cheap price, it is still worth having him on the bench in your team when Brentford play top teams as well. There are other attackers out there such as Joao Pedro and Cunha, who can do a similar job, but Wissa is a bigger differential. Will Wissa wisely be your pick?
- Lewis Hall

Another underrated defending option, Lewis Hall is a man on the rise and could well see himself in the Newcastle Hall of fame in the future. Newcastle have recently hit a red-hot run of form, with their strong defence being a key component behind this. Hall benefits from these clean sheet points, as well as points from venturing forwards, where he gets the odd attacking return. He may not be the highest scoring player, but as a budget defender for a cheap price, he certainly fits the bill. Could he enter your fantasy Hall of Fame?
