Now that we have all settled back into school life, and the NFL season is underway it is time for the launch of the most exciting sports read in the 1509. The NFL Fantasy Weekly!

We saw an exciting week of football in Week 2 with some upsets and some shock performances as well as the continuation of unexpected greatness revealing itself in the NFL this year. In this piece I will focus on two QB’s, RB’s, and one TE and WR for each of you to consider implementing or ridding of them in your league.

Let’s start with the main event, the money-makers, the ones bringing home your wins and lot’s of points throughout the season, the Quarterbacks! I will start with the big faller of the week, a QB very dear to my heart (I started him in my Superflex), Justin Fields. A generational fall off between weeks putting up 26 less points than he did against the Steelers last week. He is my recommended drop or trade for this week. A concussion will likely put him out of next weeks matchup against the Bucs and the Jets having a 26th ranked offense (according to NBC) and the Jets facing 3 top 15-ranked defences, the next few weeks could be a rough period for the 2021 first round pick.

The QB to pick up is… Daniel Jones! The Colt’s QB is consistently outperforming expectations, dropping back-to-back 20+ point games with one of them against the no. 2 ranked defence in the Broncos. With the Titans allowing 33pts against the Rams and over 400 yards, a weak Rams secondary and a poor Raiders defence, Daniel Jones is looking like a great trade for the upcoming season.

Let’s continue the positive trend looking at a great RB to pick up this year in James Cook. The Bills RB1 had put up two 20+ point games, much higher than the 15-point PPR league average among running backs. Furthermore, Cook 18 targets split between the air and ground in Week 1 and followed this up with 21 rushing attempts in Week 2, Cook looks like a great option for the Bills when turning to the passing or rushing game. He is a big hit for 2025.

A big miss in the RB room is Najee Harris. He looks to have a very limited role behind Omarion Hampton on the Chargers offense. He had 1 reception and 1 carry in Week 1 for just 2 points. However, we will see if Jim Harbaugh’s promise of a greater responsibility for Najee will pick up with MNF tonight. But, disregarding a huge turn around for Harris he is looking like a drop for this season, limited role as well as a pass heavy offense commanded by Herbert it does not look pretty for Najee this year.

The wide receiver position is where fantasy leagues are won and lost, and a winner this year is Puka Nacua. With Cooper Kupp gone Nacua is the clear WR1 on the Rams and it is showing with his targets. 10 receptions in Week 1 and a further 8 in Week 2, he is a nailed on starter in all PPR leagues. With back-to-back 20+ point games and the Rams looking to rely on him through a tough next few weeks he has the potential to go nuclear in your fantasy leagues. He is most definitely a get.

Finally, the Tight End position is always a weird one in fantasy. With little disparity between the top and bottom half Tight Ends, and their limited usage, these are not always a priority. But yours, should be and it is one of the keys to a high scoring week with your fantasy team. Tucker Kraft is by far the best pick at the tight end position. The Green Bay Packers look to be firing on all cylinders this year, and key defensive additions will hopefully increase the amount of time their offense spends on the ball. In addition to this it appears as though Kraft has earnt himself some trust after taking 1 of his 2 Week 1 receptions to the house. He followed this up with a 23-point game in Week 2 with 6 receptions and adding another touchdown to his receiving numbers this year. It is looking to be a breakout year for the sophomore Tight End, and for that reason he is my pick for this week at TE.
